First MAF Mission for FSX: Belladere Relief

We have MAF textures. We have MAF scenery. We have MAF info. But finally here's the latest memorable moment in the history of mafsim.com. The first FSX Mission reflecting a reallife MAF mission. The creator of this first MAF mission, Matthew Devenish, was the first person I ever approached with a request to see if he would be willing to create content for the not yet existing website for Flightsimulator hobbyists and the work of MAF. Matthew and his brother Sean had created the FSX mission Operation Bible Sweep and this encouraged me to send them my request. Since there is more in the live of Matthew - such as study and family life - and since MAFsim.com only existed as an idea at that moment, it took some time before the first mission has seen life, but here it is: a FSX mission containing a mission for the virtual MAF pilot: Belladere Relief.

The mission starts with bad weather: heavy rainfall at the airport of Port-Au-Prince. But medical aid materials are urgently needed. The state of the runway in Beladere is unsure, as the area is struck by hurricanes and floods. If it is impossible to land, the goods will have to be dropped.

My experience: I have started flying the mission four times now. Landing at the airfield Belladere appears to be difficult for me, since I crashed four times too. Main cause of the crashes is, I could not really refind the right landingcourse and fail to get in line with the destination runway. That's why you see no screenshots from destination and the return flight :-) I probably should read or listen better to the pre-flight information...

So, a real challenge!

For the FS-pilots for who english is not their native language, it can be practical to use the 'slowed down' audiofiles you can download separately. Just replace the original soundfiles by these new ones.

MAF simpilots, go for it!
