A few weeks after not even that much promotion-activity, the dutch fundraising action "Flying to Help" (in dutch: "Vliegen om te helpen") has welcomed it's first supporter/client. On May 22th Matthijs Smit and his father entered the flightsimcockpit in which they would fly for at least one full hour in return for € 50,00 donation for MAF. Flying to Help is a relatively small initiative, but of course every little bit can help.

Joost Schlebaum is a professional artist draughtsman who is creating MAf textures. The first three will be textures for Carenado's Cessna 206, the at this moment most used plane in MAF service. To get a taste of the artwork, Joost send me two screenshots and it is looking very promising. Check MAFsim.com the coming days for these beautifull new paintings. Joost is planning to do more MAF textures for other planes, for instance textures for the FSX default Cessna Caravan.

As a flightsim hobbyist, if there is one thing that attracts me in the work of MAF, it is ofcourse the challenge of landing and taking of on rough terrain, small airstrips and between huge mountainwalls. Take a look at these videos and let challenge your flightsim skills by these professional pilots.

An interesting article with a good video about the development of the Quest Kodiak on www.maf.org about the first Kodiak dedicated. A series of eightteen, to be purchased in the coming years, is planned.

NAMPA, Idaho—May 2, 2009—MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship) inaugurated a new era in missionary aviation when it dedicated its first KODIAK aircraft on May 2 at its headquarters here. Nine hundred guests joined MAF in dedicating its first Kodiak aircraft. This cutting-edge missionary plane will be deployed in Papua, Indonesia. Includes 1 takeoff and 3 landings to small mountain strips in Papua New Guinea in Flight Simulator X. Aircraft is Cessna 172 by Flight1 (much better flight dynamics than the default).

Although FS2004 persisting flightsimmers will not agree with me, I - being a most FSX oriëntated virtual pilot - think it is a pity, on the Carenado website you can only purchase a Cessna 210 for Flightsimulator 2004. Especially because on the most wellknown flightsim sites, strange enough there is not one freeware Cessna 210 available. Is this such an unknown plane or is it simply because it is not produced anymore. Tell me if you know.

Carenado is the only one having available the Cessna 210 and as we are used from Carenado, it is a beauty again.
