New kind of content: the Download-tips

in

Since there are so many MAF related freeware downloads available on the various large flightsimulator sites, it appears impossible to ask for permission to the authors to upload their work and offer it for download at MAFsim.com. It simply takes to much time and costs to much work. As an alternative for offering those downloads, I intent to publish regularly a overview of the probably interesting stuff on the various websites. And ofcourse, if you see more, let me know.

The first two you find downhere.

Great article about the requirements for a mission aviation pilot

in

Ever considered using your (flying-)skills for MAF? Today on iamanet.org a great article about what it needs to become a mission aviation pilot. Tecnical, mental,  attitude and practical capabilities... you all need a lot of them all. Read all about it here.

< No strait and plain landing areas for MAF pilots. The airstrips are typically hacked out of jungle, sometimes on mountainsides. Cleared areas can be little more than 1,000 feet in length, and sloped 20 degrees or more.

First supporter "Flying to Help"

in
A few weeks after not even that much promotion-activity, the dutch fundraising action "Flying to Help" (in dutch: "Vliegen om te helpen") has welcomed it's first supporter/client. On May 22th Matthijs Smit and his father entered the flightsimcockpit in which they would fly for at least one full hour in return for € 50,00 donation for MAF. Flying to Help is a relatively small initiative, but of course every little bit can help.
